2019 Girls ODP Thanksgiving Interregional

2019_GODP_800x200

The annual US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Girls Thanksgiving Interregional, which takes place Nov. 22-28 in Boca Raton at FAU and Spanish River Athletic Park, features the teams in the 2002/2003 through 2006 age groups comprised of the top female players in the country coached by some of the country's best.

The nearly 300 participating players were selected from US Youth Soccer State Association and Regional level evaluations. Throughout the week, players will attend training sessions and compete in matches against other Regions, in front of U.S. Soccer national staff and collegiate coaches to maximize their exposure for selection to the next level of play.

With programs in all 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations, US Youth Soccer ODP, the original Olympic development program, is available to any player. US Youth Soccer ODP is the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer, the National Women’s Soccer League, and the majority of current and past national and youth national team members, as alumni. Stay tuned to US Youth Soccer on social media (FacebookTwitter) for daily updates throughout the trip.

Friday- November 22

Players arrived the Town Center Marriott hotel and checked in, received their gear and headed off to dinner.  Each of the four regional teams kicked off the event with team meetings having the players get reacquainted with their coaches from ID camp this past summer.  Seeing friends again and getting into the Boca groove!

Saturday - November 23

The day began with breakfast and teams headed out to morning training in the beautiful Florida sunshine! Lunch and a bit of rest and back out to the fields for some additional training so the teams could prepare for the games to come.  After training, teams enjoyed dinner as they chatted in the dining room with coaches and administrators doing the same and the day ended with team meetings as game day preparations continued.

Sunday - November 24

Another beautiful day for training in the morning for the teams followed by an afternoon recovery session in the hotel pool led by the athletic training team.  Teams got another time to socialize, relax and bond as a team at lunchtime.  Some of the teams participated in an additional training, while others did some walk and stretch activities. Team meetings followed dinner and off to bed to prepare for game day!
