The Administrator of the Year Award honors the extraordinary accomplishments in administration over a career. The national Administrator of the Year is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer Workshop.

2019 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner – Erin Misaki - San Diego, Calif

After a very successful playing career, Misaki dedicated herself to helping the youth of San Diego learn and love the game she continues to be so passionate about. She goes out of her way to provide current players special opportunities to meet past legends of the game, like Joy Fawcett and Shannon MacMillan, and to learn what it takes to become the best player they can be.

2018 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner – Melinda Earnheart - Coppell, Texas

Starting as a part-time office assistant within Coppell Youth Soccer Association, Earnheart hit the ground running when tasked to be the Association’s registrar. Her focus is always on customer service and, while tasked with wearing many hats, she succeeds in making every experience as professional and smooth as possible for parents, players and coaches. Earnheart’s tireless efforts and understanding of the game of soccer have helped CYSA grow into a larger, more successful association

2017 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner – John Ankeney – Beavercreek, Ohio. 

Ankeney was instrumental in the formation of the Beavercreek Soccer Association in 1975. Today, Beavercreek Soccer Association provides playing opportunities for approximately 2,500 players across all its programs. Ankeney leads by example with his generosity and commitment to the community. This generosity has led to an outpouring of support from local business and government to help expand the reach of Beavercreek Soccer Association.

2016 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner – James H. Waldron – Cincinnati, Ohio. 

James H. Waldron has been an active administrator for youth soccer since 1975. Waldron has been a member of Girls Southeast Cincinnati Soccer Association Inc. since 1975, starting as a coach. He was first elected to the Board of Electors in 1976 and then named President in 1977. Furthermore, Waldron was the founder of Cincinnati United Soccer League and has served as president since its founding in 2002. Waldron was also a licensed referee and refereed the first US Youth Soccer Regional Championship in Ohio South.

2015 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year [Video]
National Winner – John Newton – Vienna, W.Va.

John Newton has served as a volunteer, coach and referee during more than 30 years in youth soccer. After volunteering at the club and state level throughout the 1990s, Newton was elected vice president of programs for West Virginia Soccer Association in 1998. In that role, he helped increase the number of teams competing in state tournaments and has also assisted with two US Youth Soccer Region I Championships held in West Virginia.

2014 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year [Video]
National Winner – William Fry – Seattle, Wash.

Bill Fry has been instrumental in the development and growth of the local soccer community. During his tenure as president, the West Seattle Soccer Club nearly doubled its amount of registered players. Bill is very active in promoting soccer through various events in the community and has brought in local professional players to motivate youth during club-sponsored clinics and camps. Also a licensed referee, Bill provides constant positive attitude for the many soccer participants in his community.

2013 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year [Video]
National Winner – Sandi Hendricks – Springfield, Mo.

Along with husband Bruce, Sandi Hendricks was among the founders of Lake Country Soccer in 1983. In the 30 years since, she’s been an integral part of the club and influenced the lives of more than 100,000 players. She works as the club’s registrar and also helps with scheduling and keeping game and team data up-to-date. Sandi plans to retire in June after three decades of making sure every child has a place to play soccer.

2012 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year [Video]
National Winner – Kevin Cathelyn – Braidwood, Ill.

Less than a year after joining Reed-Custer Soccer Club in 2007, Kevin Cathelyn ascended to president and helped the club become the first to reach the Illinois Youth Soccer "5 Star" Program Recognition. He’s increased sponsorship for the club, hosted annual parties to honor volunteers, created a referee program to train high school-aged referees and increased participation in the 3v3 Summer Sensation Tournament to now include 44 teams.

2011 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner – Eric Reed – McLean, Va.  

As treasurer of McLean Youth Soccer, Eric Reed has played a pivotal role in bringing the club to a healthy financial position, enabling strategic investments in field improvements. Reed brought modern business and financial practices to a club with more than 3,500 players from nearly 2,500 families and a budget of nearly $2.5 million. Reed has also served on the MYS Board of Directors for almost five years.

2010 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner – James Martella – Milford, Ohio

For nearly 40 years, James Martella has been a dedicated administrator who progressed within US Youth Soccer, taking on greater responsibilities while also upholding the highest standards and level of integrity to grow the game. First acting as his son's recreational coach in 1973, he has since been a local league treasure and president, the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association president (1985-1988 and 2011-present) and executive director (1988-2010), the US Youth Soccer Region II Championships chairman (1992-1998) and the US Youth Soccer National Championships chairman (1998-2017).

2009 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner - Christopher Pacilio, New York State West Youth Soccer Association

Christopher Pacilio not only had a vision, but also the drive, determination and energy to see his goals to fruition. Under his leadership and guidance, the Northern New York Soccer League was built. Pacilio established coaching courses and ensured referee training. His league began with only Under-12 Boys and Girls. Pacilio's efforts have expanded the league's size to over 1,000 players in six different age groups for boys and girls. He has helped to bring organized soccer to youth in three counties in northern New York.

2008 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner - Carol Maas, Dayton, Ohio

Carol Maas has been the state commissioner for Ohio South Youth Soccer Association since 2003, but her involvement in soccer started over 30 years ago when her children became involved. She has served as a coach, referee, administrator, and for four years, as president of Huber Heights Soccer. During the past 25 years, Maas has also served as president for a club she helped to develop, Warrior Soccer Club. For over 18 years, she was a part of Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association and served as registrar and as member of the board of directors. Maas has also taken her passion for soccer to the community and grown the game the by executing and developing several soccer events, demonstrations and new complexes.

2007 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
National Winner - Evelyn Swissler, North Texas State Soccer Association

Evelyn Swissler, from Lubbock, TX, started volunteering in the Lubbock Soccer Association in 1984 and has increased her responsibilities from the Girl's Commissioner of the club to the North Texas Soccer Youth Commissioner since 1996. Swissler accepted the position as administrative assistant and registrar with the Lubbock Soccer Association in 1988 and still holds the position today. During this time, Lubbock has maintained steady growth. She has also served as the chairperson for the US Youth Soccer Region III President's Cup and has supported other US Youth Soccer programs such as hosting the Kohl's US Youth Soccer American Cup.
