CENTRAL RECREATIONAL SITE DIRECTOR -  COLORADO RAPIDS YOUTH SOCCER CLUB

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Central Recreational Coordinator. The Central Recreational Site Director will support the organization by being the lead for their designated location by managing recreational game day sites and ensuring proper and punctual setup and takedown of game day fields while providing exceptional customer service for families, players, and coaches. The Field Coordinator will be responsible for being the main CRYSC point of contact on game days and contribute to provide a high-quality game day experience for members.

Field Coordinators must be a minimum of 18 years old and able to lift up to 50lbs of equipment. This is a physically active outdoor position that includes and is not limited to goals to being carried out to the fields, extended periods of standing, walking to various fields, and being outside in moderate weather conditions. A background in coaching experience and/or referee training is preferred but not required. Mandatory job training will be required.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Operations

  • Act as the main point person while games are taking place; typically between the hours of 8am-4pm on Saturdays and occasionally Sundays. You are expected to be at the fields for the entirety of time that games are taking place, in addition to the adequate time needed for field set up and take down.
  • The Site Director is responsible for having all fields and Rapids signage set up a minimum of 10 minutes prior to the first games starting. Must be able to safely assemble, store, and maintain collapsible goals for all fields with 3v3, 5v5, and 7v7 size dimensions.
  • The Site Director will be responsible for overseeing unique accommodations at each site to ensure members and spectators are safe and comfortable.
  • After the last game has ended, the Site Director is responsible for breaking down all fields and signage.
  • Site Directors will address in-the-moment disputes with tact, consideration for all parties involved, and sensitivity to CRYSC protocols.
  • The Site Director will assist any in-the-moment medical and safety emergencies that may occur and report them to the Central Recreational Recreational Coordinator.

Player Experience

  • CRYSC Site Directors will provide players, coaches, and families with a game day experience marked by professional field organization, customer friendly on-site support, and enjoyment.
  • Greet and welcome players and their families to the fields; cheer them on as they get ready for their game!
  • Help promote and implement the Let-Us-Play philosophy during games. This includes having conversations with families who are not abiding by the Let-Us-Play guidelines and handing out Let-Us-Play cards to all players to give to their families at the beginning of the season.
  • Provide game facilitator cards to coaches prior to the first game of the season.
  • Handing out Rapids and/or partner items (swag) periodically throughout the season.

Communication/Player Recruitment

  • Adhere to the club’s 24 hour communication policy in all forms of communication; email and voicemail.
  • Coordinating, communicating, and collaborating with CRYSC Recreational Program Directors as needed throughout the season.
  • During games the Site Director will observe and take notes of players that may qualify to be invited to Elite and Select programming. These notes will be shared with the corresponding Director of Coaching for these age groups.

Customer Service

  • Implement, maintain and exemplify a standard of superior customer service across all interactions with members, coaches, and staff.
  • Provide informative, friendly, and professional customer service for any game-related questions. Site Directors must be prepared to answer questions parent volunteer coaches may have about CRYSC in-house game day rules and tournament formats both accurately and concisely. Route questions to the corresponding program or league manager as necessary.
  • Orienting spectators and teams to their proper field and viewing areas

MARKERS OF SUCCESS:

  • Excellent Customer Service -- The quantity of inquiries from members via phone and email pertaining to game day operations is minimized due to effective on-site communication. No spectator or member feels confused while at CRYSC events with a Site Director.
  • Consistent and Reliable -- Matches begin and end on-time throughout each game day with no delay.
  • Game Day Experience -- Players, coaches, and spectators report an enjoyable experience. Members and bystanders alike recommend CRYSC based on their visual and affective encounter with each event overseen by a Site Director.
