Description:

Livermore Fusion Soccer Club is seeking a Director of Coaching that will be responsible for the development of the coaches, players and learning pathway. The individual should possess experience as a director in a soccer club and knowledge of how to run a soccer club. 

Main Expectations

Reports to the club Executive Director and Board: Responsible for managing the Technical Directors under the guidance of the Executive Director. Monthly reports required to the Board of Directors.

Manage all Professional Coaches: Responsible for management, development, organization and hiring of professional coaching staff, with the support of the Technical Directors

Management of soccer programs: Ensure current and future soccer programs within the club, such as; Premier, Select, Recreational, Camps, Tryouts and Clinics, are organized and staffed.

Curriculum and Methodology: Development of the current club curriculum, style of play and methodology.

Coaches Evaluation: Evaluate, develop and support the growth of our current Recreational, Select and Premier Program staff. 

New program ideas and development: Create concepts which will help the club grow, players play and develop further.

Personal Requirements: 

U.S. Soccer A License or foreign equivalent
Minimum of 8-10 years coaching experience at NPL/ECNL/Academy/Professional level
Coaching philosophy and style consistent with Fusion SC methodology and environment
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, including strong verbal and written communication skills
Unwavering commitment to develop soccer players and coaches
Demonstrate professionalism at all times
Able to work independently and with a team within a high-performance environment
Must be available to travel when necessary and work evenings, weekends and holidays with some irregular hours
High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Previous Technical or DOC experience
Valid documentation to work in the United States of America starting July 1st 2019

Personal Preferred requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher
Professional playing experience
Fluency in English and Spanish strongly
Knowledge of technology based platform such as videos embedding, smart phone apps, website development, social communication apps, etc.

The main job requirements for the Director of Coaching are outlined below:

Leadership

First point of contact for program players or parent concerns. 
Be available to support all professional and volunteer coaches on practice suggestions.
Hold meetings/seminars to educate parents and/or players on LFSC and the philosophies, policies and bylaws of LFSC.
Support and lead, volunteer coaches in the Recreational division. 
Support and lead the professional coaches in the Premier division.
Identify appropriate tournaments for the Premier and Select teams.
Oversight of Select player identification during the Fall Season. 

Player Development: In coordination with the Technical Directors

Ensure the player development path and curriculum for the Premier, Select and Recreational program meets the current club development philosophy.
Conduct tryouts and evaluations in the Premier and Select programs on an annual basis.

Coach Development

Support and provide feedback to coaches both professional and volunteer.
Complete annual evaluations and self evaluations for all professional coaches.
Recruitment of professional coaching staff at all time
Conduct coaching clinics monthly for professional coaching staff
Continuous development of LFSC coaching manuals, curriculum and development opportunity's
Ensure professional coaches are using appropriate preparation to fulfill expectations at the Premier and Select levels. 

Club Development

Be present and support LFSC teams in LFSC held tournaments. 
Organize and develop 3 club summer camp opportunities for players in the Premier, Select and Recreational division. 
Provide monthly articles for the club newsletter and social media.
Seek partnership for club growth and player development 

Professional coaching

Coach Premier teams as needed; either as a head coach, cover for a head coach, or provide clinics to teams.
Oversee all premier and select tryouts
Conduct practices for each Premier teams
Provide match analysis for each Premier teams

Fusion SC is a soccer club located in the city of Livermore, CA. serving the entire east bay of the San Francisco bay area. The club provides youth soccer programs for approximately 2,500 players a year. About 450 of these players participate in the Premier Program. The other 2,200 play in the Recreational or Select Programs. Fusion SC has been serving our community since 1976.
